About the Manor
Welcome to Moore Manor. The manor itself was built as a communal grain and feed store for our local community more than 200 years ago. Through the years the building was used for various purposes from gas station to church. It even did some time as a firehouse. Apparently, it was left empty and abandoned during the seventies. A man named George Poulton bought the place and many other large buildings in town in the eighties. He converted it into his personal residence. My wife and I acquired the manor in 2004 and raised our four boys here while renovating and repurposing the building. We are currently on our way to providing a very unique artist resort and bed and breakfast. With two full suites and three bedrooms to rent out. We will also have an 800 sq. ft event /studio available for long- or short-term rentals. For our musician and film friends we have a 400 ft sound proofed recording studio complete with isolation booth and separate control room. This can easily can be converted to a private movie theater that easily accommodates 20 people. Combined with being in a rural location only 45 mins from downtown Toronto with incredible scenery for driving or motorcycling. Only 20 minutes from Lake Simcoe, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Keep an eye out for updates. Hope to see you soon.
